MADERA

SYNOPSIS
In the Colombian Caribbean actors and actresses are hired to play as absent people. As the film merges realism with fiction, these actors fill the literal and emotional void left in the households. Madera focuses on the daily dynamics of Enrique, a veteran actor who plays the role of fathers and husbands in families, with Divina, a 58 year old woman who accesses this service due her husband's absence 20 years ago. The film ponders a fictional response to a real problem where the personal and the historical intertwine to resist oblivion.
